to a higher level of academic excellence.

Pictures above--Appreciation Breakfast
held on 11/20/09 for Transportation's participation in the 100% Awareness Campaign. Many thanks to the Hallsville ISD staff for all of the support
that was given to the Hallsville ISD Education Foundation during the 100% Awareness Campaign. Over 650 employees pledged a total of $8,852. Raising awareness was the goal of this campaign--100%
awareness with everyone in the district knowing how the Foundation enhances the opportunities we are able
to provide to our students, staff, and families. The high level of success of the Foundation is due to the work of our Foundation
Board of Directors, our supportive community, and our dedicated staff. Thanks to their efforts, we
are better able to achieve our mission to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be
life-long learners.

Teachers...Have you ever wanted to do something a little different, more
challenging and innovative for your students, but didn't have the funding to buy what you needed? Have you
ever said, "If I only had the money, we could...." Well, this is the answer! The Hallsville
ISD Education Foundation is ready to reward your creativity and ideas by providing the funds. While this is a
competitive application process, it is very easy to do! All you need to do is submit a simple application to the
Foundation. Click on the GRANT WRITING link above, to download a grant application. Deadline to enter
is March 26, 2010.
We have begun our 2009-2010 fundraising
drive of $35,000. Select the ANNUAL DRIVE link above, to see how you can help the Hallsville teachers and students
achieve their dreams. 8th Annual Golf Tournament
"Fore" the Kids will be held at Pinecrest Country Club in Longview, TX on Monday, June 21, 2010. Registration
and driving range opens at 11:00AM; lunch begins at 11:30AM for all golfers. Shotgun start at 1:00PM--4 person, 18-hole
scramble Tournament Sponsorships Available For more information, contact the Foundation Office at 903-668-5990,
ext. 5425. Registration and Sponsorship forms are available on the Golf Tournament link. High School students can take 36 college hours at the rate of $150 per course. At Hallsville ISD,
we have several students that would like to participate in this program, but can not due to financial hardships.
For this reason, the Hallsville ISD Education Foundation will begin taking Dual Credit Course Scholarship applications
for the fall, 2010 semester. One of the most valuable aspects of the program is that it enables students with economic
hardships in grades 11 and 12 to apply and pursue their academic goals. Students are monitored by Hallsville ISD staff
throughout the program to ensure they follow the scholarship guidelines of staying in school, maintaining good grades,
and remain drug and crime free. For more information, contact Debbie Cline (dcline@hisd.com) or the Foundation Office bgodsey@hisd.com.
Looking for that special gift? Want to honor or memorialize someone? Brick orders will be taken on a year-round basis. Click on the Brick Program link for information
on how to order yours today!
